Yes, I know what you learn in school is very limited. Even though I'm not going to University anymore, I've done 2 years in college, and graduated in psychology... To find out I learnt much more working on the field 16 hours a week than being sat in class close to 25 hours a week, not including homework and lectures... Guess it will be the same for you :)
I'm not close anymore to the friends I used to have when I was a kid. We just took different ways... I used to hang out with one of them a few years ago, but she decided to go our own way again... so we got out of sight from each other. So take good care of those old friends you have. they probably are the best you'll ever have :)
One of my friend sent me me short videos on how to pronounce Chinese words! I loved it! And yes, it's quite different from Japanese pronunciation! Hopefully, I've heard Chinese sentences were built on the same frame as english... right? lol

I understand how you feel... I was like this, too. I would be the one there for others, but nobody would never know what was wrong with me, or when. I didn't wanna bother them with that. But I understood that having some good frinds whom I could rely on no matter what was relieving me from a lot of pressure, and was helping me to move forward. When I'm down, they were there to pick me up and help me get back on my feet. And when I feel like walking the path is becoming too hard, they are there to remind me the goal ahead, the vision we have, our dreams and ambitions, and to kick my butt so I keep moving! I couldn't live without them, now. There are only 3 of them right now. But as I keep moving along my path, I meet more and more of those people... :)
Yes, 24 has a movie. But I have to say I'm not sure if it,s released or not yet! It's confusing, it's true! You must not miss a single second of it! lol! I usually sleep *all* the time when watching movies. I'm known for that. "Hey Steph, we're about to watch a movie, wanna sleep on the floor?" But I couldn't sleep at all during the 24 series. It keeps me wide awake. I'm going to watch some in an hour. and talking about it makes me excited... lol!
We have a Japanese friend here right now! So he'll be able to teach me even more! I intend to follow level 2 and 3 classes next semester, than I might have Chinese.

In my spare time... I'm taking Japanese lessons right now. And I like to go shopping. A lot. lol. And recently, we're watching a TV Series called 24. It's very popular over here, I don't know if you ever heard about it. I usually hate watching TVs, and don't like most of Hollywood movies... But 24 is amazing!!!! You'd love it, too, I'm pretty sure. And I enjoy reading. Maybe you've heard of my favorite author. She's Belgian, but lived in China a few years. Her family name is Nothomb...

I know what you're talking about. There are different regions here in Quebec also, and each one is different. By its scenery, culture, and people. Even the language is different. Not a lot, but slightly. And I love it... I think difference allows us to see the beauty in everything ;)
I know people in China are kind and friendly. I think everybody proved it to me so far. I was greatly impressed ever since I began talking with you. And I learn a lot from you! Not only about China, but life in general. It sometimes looks like French Canadian lost their sense of value and perspective when religion crumbled down a few decades ago.
It's amazing you might work at Disney's amusement park in Orlando! I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot, and that it will be an amazing experience for you. Will it be the first time going abroad for you? And it should bring you a smile back on your face. How come you stopped smiling??? You deserve the best, and deserve to be happy... :)

I watched the pictures of Suzhou... I was speechless!!!! I honestly never thought China was that beautiful! And it must take forever to visit it entirely! I know I'll find my first trip there way too short! lol! I don't even wanna think about it right now!
As for me, I just came back from Europe! I was there on tour with the band! They played in UK, France, Germany and Netherlands, and I could watch time every night! It was very special for me, and I was so proud of them! Every night, the room was crowded!!! They worked very very hard to get where they are now... so it was special! I don't even know what words would describe the best how I felt :)
Other than that, I had and amazing time on the tour! I couldn't visit much (at all!!!) But I felt so good when I was there... I felt home, and I was free. I guessed Europe changed me a bit :)
