the rap republic was formed by kunming producer/emcee tang ren ti (aka tang man kick) and emcee mike wind (aka mai ke feng) in the early months of 2007. prior to rap rep, both wind and tangren were involved in the kunming based collaborative project south silk road, which features three american emcees, two chinese emcees, and one italian punk rocker, bringing lyricals to the production skills of cali-grown ghost eye (aka martial stakks). when stakks returned to the left coast of amarakkka to commence the final mix down on the ssr joint, tang man kick and mike wind began strategizing the double-pronged attack mission of the rap republic -- to spread the message of love, hip hop, and truth to the chinese/english-speaking populace of the planet. the goal: to amass a diverse representation of hip hop voices and languages with a unified aim, as simple as it is crucial: to embody the spirit of hip hop to the fullest... worldwide.
